Specialising in the effective treatment of Heel Pain

Heel Pain

Heel pain is unfortunately quite a common condition, affecting people of all ages and abilities. In adults, the most common cause of heel pain is a condition called plantar fasciitis. The plantar fascia is the band of tissue that runs underneath your foot, from heel to toe. The symptoms of plantar fasciitis are usually more prominent in the morning, presenting as heel pain when first waking up and walking around. The pain tends to diminish over the course of the day, as walking stretches the tissue. It can increase again after prolonged periods of sitting or extensive sessions of walking or exercising, both of which cause the plantar fasciitis to contract and tighten.

In good news, our team of Podiatrists in Redlynch specialise in the effective treatment of chronic heel pain, using specialised shockwave equipment. Our Chattanooga Shockwave Machine provides clinically proven treatment for a range of chronic heel pain conditions, including plantar fasciitis and achilles tendinopathy, with as little as four treatments.

This non-invasive and effective treatment of heel pain, speeds up the recovery process and provides long lasting results. In fact, a recent study has indicated that shockwave therapy is more beneficial in the long term for chronic plantar fasciitis, compared to cortisone injections.
